Marc & Patrick Ward

The Mountain Inn is run by owners Marc and Patrick Ward. Having been involved in hotel management for 40 years in Swaziland, the family has succeeded in establishing a reputation for reliability and quality, which is unequalled in the local Swaziland travel industry. This business success is mirrored by their involvement in a myriad of local community structures, social welfare and business development programmes. As a former Senator in the Swazi Parliament, Marc (snr) is a knowledgeable host, who, with his family, exude a passion and enthusiasm for the Kingdom, which is characteristic of all Swazi's.

Patrick Ward after working onboard charter boats in the Caribbean for eight years returned to Swaziland and has brought a wealth of experience and passion for the leisure industry to the Mountain Inn. Patrick is married to Katheryn and they have a vivacious daughter Ella.

"This hotel REALLY does care. On hearing that our group of Americans was cycling across Swaziland to raise funds for Young Heroes, an orphan-support project, the hotel owners instinctively donated the value of our two-night stay in cash back to the project. How great is that?"
Mr. Steve Kallaugher (Cycle R. - United States on 07/05/2010

Traveller Comments:
"This is a full service hotel with pool, gym, bar, nice restaurant, etc. The view is beautiful, the grounds lovely, and the service is exceptional. However, if you are simply looking for a place to sleep and eat in the evenings, it may be more luxury and a higher price than is necessary."
Mr. Cynthia K. - United States on 04/07/2010
"The hotel is clean and every effort is taken to keep it that way. My concern is the breakfast service, the standard is poor and the food is not well presented including the display is unkept and not cleaned. I was offended when I asked for honey with my tea and the entire honey bowel was shoved into my face my the waiter and without a word the bowel was taken away without a replacement before I finished my tea pot.

Great hotel, with a bit of work on the breakfast display and attituded of some of the waiters, it could be great.

Please keep a spare umbrella at reception for your clients use during rainy days."
Mr. Herman M. - South Africa on 01/07/2010
"Owner-run establishments will always stand apart from chains and management-run hotels. This is a great hotel, run by a truly great family of hoteliers."
Mr. Steve Kallaugher (Cycle R. - United States on 07/05/2010
"The surroundings of the hotel were excellent. Unfortunately the area just behind the hotel spoiled things for us because of litter strewn all over the place."
Mr. Chisanga P. - Zambia on 08/11/2008
